1. Dùng ảnh chụp không hút mắt

Hình ảnh là thứ đầu tiên thu hút người mua hàng trên Etsy nói chung và các sàn Thương mại điện tử (E-commerce) nói riêng. Vậy nên, trước khi bắt đầu mở cửa hàng kinh doanh hay có ý định kinh doanh bất cứ sản phẩm nào, cần đầu tư hình ảnh thu hút và nghiêm túc: đủ sáng, đủ các chi tiết, có hình ảnh mang tính đời thường, tập trung đầu tư cho hình ảnh chính của sản phẩm.

2. Viết phần mô tả không đúng trọng tâm

Mô tả sản phẩm là điểm thứ hai mang tính thu hút, khiến khách hàng hứng thú với việc mua sản phẩm. Vậy nên cần đầu tư phần mô tả kĩ càng, móc nối liên quan với khách hàng để họ có thể ra quyết định mua hàng nhanh hơn. Mẹo nhanh cho người bán hàng:

Học từ đối thủ, từ những cửa hàng bán tốt sản phẩm tương tự

3. Không chú trọng SEO (Search Engine Optimization)

Việc tối ưu hoá công cụ tìm kiếm (SEO, Search Engine Optimization) nội – ngoại sàn rất quan trọng. Nếu chỉ tập trung bán sản phẩm mà không quan tâm SEO hay biết quá ít về SEO, khả năng cao bạn sẽ không bán được hàng. Những điều cần ghi nhớ:

What you should know about Etsy's Purchase Protection Program

On the rare occasion that something goes wrong during the buying process, we’re here to help. Etsy’s Purchase Protection program allows you to shop confidently knowing you’ll receive a full refund for qualifying orders when your item:

Doesn’t arrive
Arrives damaged
Differs significantly from the item description or photos (for example: the wrong material or color)

Any order that is shipped on or after August 1, 2022 is eligible for Etsy’s Purchase Protection program.

If you’re unsatisfied with an order that doesn’t meet the criteria for Etsy Purchase Protection, please check the seller’s policies to see if they accept cancellations, returns, or exchanges.

How do I get my refund?

If you believe your order qualifies for Etsy Purchase Protection, the first step is to reach out to the seller by starting a Help request. 90% of order issues can be resolved by working with the seller. Learn how to get your Help request started.

If the issue hasn’t been resolved and it’s been 48 hours since you first messaged the seller, and the estimated delivery date for your order has passed, ask Etsy to step in to help you get your refund. You may need to provide some photos of damaged or misrepresented items. Learn how to get Etsy’s help by opening a case.

Once your refund eligibility is confirmed, Etsy sends you a confirmation email.

I purchased as a guest

You must have an Etsy account to start a Help request. If you purchased an item as a guest, connect your order to a new or existing Etsy account so you can be eligible for the Purchase Protection program.

What happens to the seller if I request a refund?

An occasional case opened against a seller will not negatively impact them or their shop.

All cases that are opened on Etsy are taken seriously, and are reviewed carefully by their case team to ensure the right decision is made. Etsy seller policy - Effective from December 2022

Etsy is a marketplace where you can sell your handmade goods, vintage items, and craft supplies directly to buyers around the world. We want to make sure that you and your buyers have a positive experience on Etsy and Sellerwix. Please read on to find out more about your rights, as well as what is expected of you, as a seller.

This policy was published on October 19, 2022. It will take effect on December 1, 2022.

This policy is a part of Etsy’s Terms of Use. By opening an Etsy shop, you’re agreeing to this policy and our Terms of Use.

1. Selling basics

Keeping in mind these basic requirements will set you up for success on Etsy.

a. What can be sold on Etsy

Etsy is a unique marketplace. Buyers come here to purchase items that they might not find anywhere else. Everything listed for sale on Etsy must be handmade, vintage, or a craft supply.

Handmade items are items that are made and/or designed by you, the seller. Read our full Handmade Policy here.

If you sell handmade items, you agree that:

All handmade items are made or designed by you. If you work with a production partner, you must disclose that production partner in your relevant listings.
You accurately describe every person involved in making an item in your shop in your About section.
You are using your own photographs or video content — not stock photos, artistic renderings, or photos used by other sellers or sites. Read more about using appropriate photographs in this Help article.

If you are selling personalized or made-to-order items in the Handmade category, you agree that:

All listings are available for purchase at a set price.
If you are using photographs of previous work with options for customization (like color choices) included in the listing, it is clear in your description that the photos shown are just examples.

Vintage items must be at least 20 years old. Click here to learn more about vintage items on Etsy.

Craft supplies are tools, ingredients, or materials whose primary purpose is for use in the creation of an item or special occasion. Craft supplies may be handmade, commercial, or vintage. Party supplies may also be sold as craft supplies. Click here to learn more about what may be sold as a craft supply.

We encourage you to be transparent about how your craft supplies were made and where your materials come from. You can disclose whether your items have social or environmental attributes, such as organic or recycled. You can also select the location of manufacture. Learn more here.

b. What cannot be sold on Etsy

Even if they otherwise meet our marketplace criteria, prohibited items, services, and items that violate our intellectual property policies are not allowed to be sold on Etsy. All listings must offer an item for sale (which includes digitally delivered items and can also include reserved listings). You may not create an Etsy listing for the purpose of sharing a referral code, posting a want ad, or similar activity that does not offer a physical or digital item for sale.

Reselling is not allowed in the handmade category on Etsy. Reselling refers to listing an item as handmade when you were not involved in designing or making that item.

Keep in mind that members or, in some cases, third parties, may flag listings that appear to violate our policies for Etsy’s review. Etsy may remove any listings that violate its policies. Note that listing fees are non-refundable. Etsy may also suspend or terminate your account for any violations. You’ll still be on the hook to pay any outstanding fees on your Etsy statement. If you are raising money on behalf of a charity, you must obtain that charity’s consent. Please see this Help article for more information about donating any portion of your sales to charity.

c. Managing your Etsy shop

Your shop represents you and your business to the Etsy community. It’s important that you, your items, and your shop are honestly and accurately represented.

By selling on Etsy, you agree that you will:

Provide honest, accurate information to Etsy and in your About section.
Honor your Shop Policies.
Ensure your shop content, such as any text, photos, or videos used to represent yourself, your shop, or your listings, abide by Etsy’s policies, including Etsy’s Anti-Discrimination Policy.
Accurately represent your items in listings and listing photos.
Respect the intellectual property of others. If you feel someone has violated your intellectual property rights, you can report it to Etsy.
Not engage in fee avoidance.
Not create duplicate shops or take any other action (such as manipulating clicks, carts, or sales) for the purpose of shilling, manipulating search or circumventing Etsy’s policies.
Not coordinate pricing with other sellers.

d. Seller standards

By listing a product for sale on Etsy you understand and agree that you are responsible for complying with all applicable laws and regulations for the products you list for sale, including any required labels and warnings. Etsy assumes no responsibility for the accuracy, labeling, or content of your listings.

Meeting service level standards

As a seller, you must provide great customer service and maintain trust with your buyers. These requirements are called Etsy Seller Service Level Standards. Etsy may reach out to you if your shop fails to meet Etsy’s Seller Service Level Standards. Read more here.

By selling on Etsy, you agree to:

Honor your shipping and processing times. Sellers are obligated to ship an item or otherwise complete a transaction with a buyer in a prompt manner, unless there is an exceptional circumstance. Please be aware that legal requirements for shipping times vary by country. Read more in Etsy Shipping Policy.
Respond to Messages in a timely manner.
Honor the commitments you make in your shop policies.
Resolve disagreements or order issues directly with the buyer. In the unlikely event that you can’t reach a resolution, Etsy can help through our case system. Read about your rights and responsibilities regarding cases here.
If you are unable to complete an order, you must notify the buyer and cancel the order. Read about how to cancel an order in this Help article.

e. Selling fees

Sellers may be charged for using some of Etsy’s services. There are fees associated with listing, selling, advertising, and certain other Etsy products and features. You can find information on fees in the Fees and Payments Policy.

2.Being a member of the Etsy community

At Sellerwix and Etsy, everyone is expected to treat fellow members of the Etsy community with respect. As a seller, you have additional responsibilities to safeguard personal information and communicate promptly with buyers in order to provide a great customer experience.

a. Creating and uploading content

As a member of Etsy, you have the opportunity to create and upload a variety of content, like listings, messages, text, photos, and videos. In order to keep our community safe and respectful, you agree that you will not upload content that is:

Contains hateful or derogatory language or imagery, or any content that is subject to Etsy Anti-Discrimination and Hate Speech Policy;
Contains threats, harassment, extortion, or violates Etsy rules about interference;
Violates someone else’s intellectual property rights;
Is false, deceptive, or misleading;
Contains unsolicited advertising or promotions, requests for donations, or spam;
Contains private information, whether it is your own, or someone else’s;
Encourages or facilitates a transaction that evades the Etsy checkout process;
Contains prohibited medical drug claims;
Violates any of the rules described in Etsy Prohibited Items Policy.

b. Privacy and protecting personal information

You are responsible for protecting members’ personal information you receive or process, and you must comply with all relevant legal requirements. This includes applicable data protection and privacy laws that govern the ways in which you can use Etsy user information. These laws may require that you post and comply with your own privacy policy, which must be accessible to Etsy users with whom you interact. Your privacy policy must be compatible with this policy and Etsy’s Terms of Use, and Etsy’s Privacy Policy.

In particular, when you sell using our Services (subject to this Policy) or use Etsy’s API (also subject to the Etsy API Terms of Use), you may receive and determine what to do with certain personal information, such as when communicating with users and entering into transactions with buyers. This means you process personal information (for example, buyer name, email address, and shipping address) and, to the extent you do so, under EU law, you are an independent controller of data relating to other users that you may have obtained through the Services. For more information on the General Data Protection Regulation, see more resources at https://gdpr-info.eu and http://gdprandyou.ie. As a data controller (that is someone who decides what personal data is collected and the purpose you’ll use the data for) to the extent that you process user personal information outside of the Services, you may be required under applicable data protection and privacy laws to honor requests received from such users for data access, portability, correction, deletion, and objections to processing. Also, if you disclose personal information without the buyer’s proper consent, you are responsible for that unauthorized disclosure. This includes, for example, disclosures you make or unintentional data breaches. For example, you may receive a buyer’s email address or other information as a result of entering into a transaction with that buyer. This information may only be used for Etsy-related communications or for Etsy-facilitated transactions. You may not use this information for unsolicited commercial messages or unauthorized transactions. Without the buyer’s consent, and subject to other applicable Etsy policies and laws, you may not add any Etsy member to your email or physical mailing list, use that buyer’s identity for marketing, or obtain or retain any payment information. Please bear in mind that you’re responsible for knowing the standard of consent required in any given instance. If Etsy and you are found to be joint data controllers of personal information, and if Etsy is sued, fined, or otherwise incurs expenses because of something that you did in your capacity as a joint data controller of buyer personal information, you agree to indemnify, defend and hold Etsy (and its employees, agents, consultants, subsidiaries, partners, affiliates, and licensors) harmless against any claims, costs, losses, damages, liabilities, judgements and expenses (including reasonable attorney fees) in connection with your processing of buyer personal information. c. Communication standards

i. Messages

With Etsy’s “Messages”, you have the ability to communicate directly with your buyers or other Etsy members. Messages are a great way for buyers to ask you questions about an item or an order.

Messages may not be used for the following activities:

Sending unsolicited advertising or promotions, requests for donations, or spam;
Harassing or abusing another member or violating our Anti-Discrimination Policy;
Contacting someone after they have explicitly asked you not to; or
Interfering with a transaction or the business of another member.
Exchanging personal contact, financial or other information for the purposes of evading the checkout process on Etsy, including phone number, address, email, social media handles, external URLs, instructions for money transfer, etc.

Interference

Interference occurs when a member intentionally interferes with another member’s shop in order to drive away their business. Interference is strictly prohibited on Etsy. Examples of interference include:

Contacting another member via Messages to warn them away from a particular member, shop, or item;
Posting in public areas to demonstrate or discuss a dispute with another member;
Purchasing from a seller for the sole purpose of leaving a negative review;
Maliciously clicking on a competitor’s ads in order to drain that member’s advertising budget, also known as “click fraud.”
Creating or using an independent buyer account to maliciously upvote another shop’s negative reviews in order to position those reviews more prominently.

Harassment and discrimination

Any use of Messages to harass other members is strictly prohibited. Similarly, Messages may not be used to support or glorify hatred or otherwise violate our Anti-Discrimination Policy. If you receive a Message that violates this policy, please let us know right away.

ii. Forums and teams

Forums and Teams are public spaces provided by Etsy where sellers can connect, but there are communication standards that must be followed. More information can be found in the Etsy Community Policy.

iii. Communicating cancellations

If you are unable to complete a transaction, you must notify the buyer via Messages and cancel the transaction. If the buyer already submitted payment, you must issue a full refund. You are encouraged to keep proof of any refunds in the event a dispute arises. All cancellations are subject to our Cancellation Policy.

European Union Right of Withdrawal Buyers in the European Union (EU), and in parallel buyers in the UK, may be entitled to a 14-day “right of withdrawal” after receiving an item, during which they may return an item for any reason. The details of this right vary by EU member state or in the UK. The right of withdrawal may not apply to certain items like custom items or perishable goods. Please be aware that in addition to this policy, each country has its own laws surrounding shipping, cancellations, returns, and exchanges. Please familiarize yourself with the laws of your own country and those of your buyers’ countries.

Sellers may still cancel an order and work toward a resolution with a buyer as they see fit for policies applied to their shops, such as the digital items policy.

3. Feedback, cases and your successt

a. Reviews

Reviews are a great way for you to build a reputation on Etsy. Buyers can leave a review, including a one to five star rating and a photograph or video of their purchase, within 100 days after the latter date of their item’s estimated delivery date. If an estimated delivery date is not available, the review window opens after the order’s processing time and shipping time have elapsed. Buyers can edit their review, including the photograph or video, any number of times during that 100 day period.

On the rare occasion you receive an unfavorable review, you can reach out to the buyer or leave a response.

In addition to our rules for Creating and Uploading Content in Section 2a, reviews and your response to reviews may not:

Contain graphic, mature, or obscene language or imagery, or any content that is subject to our mature content policy;
Be about things outside the seller’s control, such as a shipping carrier, Etsy or a third party;
Include shilling or otherwise falsely inflate a shop’s review score; or
Undermine the integrity of the Reviews system.

b. Etsy’s case system

The Case system is how a buyer notifies Etsy of an order issue or dispute that they’re unable to resolve with a seller, in order for Etsy to help them reach a resolution.

“Buyers must contact sellers directly via the Help with Order link and attempt to resolve any outstanding issues before opening a case on Etsy.”

For this reason, it is important that you fill out your shop policies and regularly respond to messages from your buyers. Once a buyer contacts you to notify you of a problem with an order, you will have 48 hours to resolve the issue. If the issue is unresolved in this time frame, a case may be opened by the buyer. Once a case has been opened, Etsy will assist in the resolution of the case between the buyer and seller. This may include, but is not limited to, automatically closing the case and issuing a refund to the buyer, or reviewing the case further to help the buyer and seller resolve it as quickly as possible.

Etsy reserves the right to resolve an order issue before the 48-hour window for circumstances including, but not limited to, seller inactivity, harassment, refusal of service, manipulation, and undermining the integrity of the case system.

Buyers may file a case for items that never arrive, arrive damaged, or do not match the listing description as part of Etsy’s Purchase Protection Program (for more information on case eligibility, click here). Etsy may request your assistance in resolving a case opened against your shop. By using Etsy’s case system, you understand that Etsy may use your personal information for the purpose of resolving disputes with other members. For certain cases, sellers are protected by Etsy’s Purchase Protection Program. If the case falls outside of Etsy’s Purchase Protection Program for Sellers, unless otherwise required by law, you will be required to refund the order, including original shipping and return shipping. Etsy reserves the right to issue a refund to the buyer and recoup funds from your account, including your payment account reserve, if payment was made via Etsy Payments.

c. Your seller account and Etsy’s terms

In order to keep Etsy safe and improve our Services, Etsy may take actions that limit the visibility of your shop, listings or ads, or that impact your payment account. In the event a shop sees unusual order activity, or Etsy otherwise believe that your actions or shop may result in buyer disputes, chargebacks, increased risk of fraud, counterfeiting, or other claims, Etsy may take actions such as limiting visibility of your account, or placing restrictions or reserves on your payments account, in accordance with their Terms of Use, including this Policy and Etsy Payments Policy. When appropriate and permitted by law, Etsy will communicate information to the affected seller about the issue.

In the event a shop sees an unusual spike in orders, particularly in a high demand category, a shop may see an increase or decrease in its search ranking. Often, if a shop sees an increase in fulfilled orders and good reviews, this may result in higher visibility and search rank. However, sometimes a rapid increase in orders can reduce visibility. In addition, Etsy may limit the visibility of listings or ads in the interest of keeping Etsy safe, and improving their Services. For example, listings or ads may have decreased visibility because they include terms that represent a prohibited item or based on third party policies. These listings or ads may also be restricted from appearing in one or more features of the Services. While these listings or ads may have limited visibility, they are still discoverable in search.

Etsy may make changes to onboarding or authentication processes for sellers at their sole discretion. Completion of these processes may be required for seller account activation or continued access and usage.

If Etsy has reason to believe you, Your Content, or your use of the Services violate their Terms, including this Seller Policy, Etsy may deactivate Your Content to some or all users, or suspend or terminate your account (and any accounts Etsy determines is related to your account) and your access to the Services. Sellers in the European Union can see more information here. Generally, Etsy will notify you that Your Content or account has been suspended or terminated, unless you’ve repeatedly violated their Terms or Etsy have legal or regulatory reasons preventing us from notifying you.

d. Etsy’s purchase protection program for sellers

Handmade on Etsy is a spectrum of makers and designers. Read more below about your obligations as a handmade seller.

This policy is a part of Etsy Terms of Use. By listing handmade items for sale through Etsy, you’re agreeing to this policy and Etsy Terms of Use.

1. Selling handmade items

Handmade on Etsy is a spectrum. On one end, we have makers — sellers who are literally making their items with their own hands (or tools). On the other end, we have designers — sellers who design their items but rely entirely on outside assistance or another business to help physically produce them. Many handmade sellers fall in the middle of the spectrum because they are both making and designing their items.

Regardless of where you fall on this spectrum, you must be transparent about who is helping you and how your items are being made. Everything listed as handmade must be made and/or designed by you, the seller. Reselling is prohibited in the handmade category. You may also have shop members who help you run your business, as long as you, the seller, are making and/or designing your items.

Makers

A maker is a seller who is physically making the items listed for sale in their Etsy shop. A maker might design their items in addition to making them, or they might follow a pattern or template that they did not design. Regardless, makers must be creating their items with their own hands (or tools).

Designers

A designer is a seller who has come up with an original design, pattern, sketch, template, prototype, or plan to be produced by in-house shop members or a production partner. Simple customization, such as selecting colors, shapes, or choosing from ready-made options is not considered design on Etsy.

If you are a designer and you are using a production partner to help make your items, you must also disclose information about your production partner in your listings. A production partner is anyone (who’s not a part of your Etsy shop) who helps you physically produce your items.

2. Using production assistance

Designers may work with production partners to help make handmade items in certain circumstances. Keep in mind that people come to Etsy to discover items that they might not find anywhere else. Your design and production process should lead to the creation of a unique item that would not exist without you, the designer.

We expect your production partner to produce items themselves in their own facilities. A contractor or agent who outsources production may not be used as a production partner. Examples of production services include, but are not limited to, printing, apparel printing, 3D-printing, casting, plating, engraving, cutting and sewing, and finishing.

If you work with a production partner, you must disclose certain information in the listing process, including:

The name of your production partner(s);
The location of your production partner(s);
Details about the nature of your partnership and design process; and
A general description of the work your production partner does for you.

You may choose to keep the name of your production partner and details about your partnership and design process confidential (visible only to select Etsy employees), but the location and description of your production partner will appear on your About section and listings.

Etsy may reach out to you at any time with a more detailed inquiry about your business. Please be prepared to provide additional details about the origins of your business, your role in the design process, your production process, and your connection to your production partner, as well as what efforts your production partner has made to follow Etsy ethical expectations.

We understand that you may wish to keep the details of your design and business practices confidential. Please be assured that Etsy will not use the private information you provide us for any purpose other than reviewing your business to determine that you are in compliance with Etsy policies.

Etsy reserve the right to reject any production partnerships that aren’t in the letter or spirit of this policy or their ethical expectations.

3. Being transparent about your business

At Etsy, we value transparency. Transparency means that you honestly and accurately represent yourself, your items, and your business. As a handmade seller, you agree to:

Disclose in your About section the names and roles of people who help make your items or run your business;
Use your own words and photographs (not stock photos) to describe your items; and
Respond to any inquiries from us in a timely manner. We may ask you: how your items are made, what workspace, tools, and equipment you use; and how you communicate and collaborate with the people who help you run your shop.

Remember:

Etsy marketplace is built on trust. Providing false, inaccurate, or misleading information is prohibited by Etsy Terms of Use. If we find that you’re not being open and honest with us, we may suspend or terminate your account.

What is a production partner?

A production partner is a company or individual (who’s not part of your Etsy shop) that helps physically produce items based on your own, original designs, such as a printing service, an apparel producer, an engraver, etc.

Why is Etsy making me choose a production partner?

Some reasons that you might work with a production partner may include:

You don’t have the equipment or technical ability to manufacture items you have designed.
Your business is growing, and you need help keeping up with the quantity of orders that you are receiving, or you’ve outgrown your current production space.

Production partners do not include your own shop members or suppliers from whom you source ready-made products to resell.

Handmade items produced with a production partner must abide by Etsy Handmade Policy. We require sellers using production assistance to transparently share this information on the applicable listings. Buyers can see information about any production partners you work with from your shop’s About section.

How to add a production partner?

There are several ways to add a production partner:

While adding or editing a listing, you can add a production partner in the Production partners section of your Listing details.
In the Listings section of Shop Manager, select at least one listing and choose Editing options, then Change production partners.

You can also create production partner profiles in the Production partner manager:

In Shop Manager, choose Settings.
Select Production partners.
Select Add a new production partner and fill out a form telling Etsy and the community about your partnership. The information not marked Private will be shared publicly in your shop.
Next to Production partner, enter your partner’s business name. Etsy requires that you disclose the business name, but you can choose to keep this private in your shop. In that case, you will enter a public title (such as “Apparel printer”) that describes what kind of business they are.
In the Location field, Enter your partner’s city, state, province, etc. As you type, select from the list that appears.
In the About production partner field, describe how you work with them. This public information can include why you chose this partner and the types of services that they provide for you.
The answers you select in the About your partnership dropdown menus are only for Etsy’s internal use. These won’t show up publicly in your shop or listings, but your partner’s location and the description of your production partner will.
Preview how this will look on your shop’s About Section.

For example:

When you are a partner of Sellerwix, and you want to add Sellerwix as your Production partner on Etsy. Please follow these steps:

Step 1: In Shop Manager, choose Settings
Step 2: Select Production partners —> Select Add a new production partner and fill out a form telling Etsy and the community about Sellerwix
Step 3: Next to Production partner, fill out Sellerwix’s information
Step 4: Enter our location

How to remove or edit a production partner from your listings?

You can edit or remove a production partner in several ways:

Select Listings in Shop Manager. Choose a listing and you can de-select a production partner from an individual listing.
Select the listings you want to edit from the Listings page. Choose Editing options, then Production partners. De-select the partner and choose Update.
In the Production partners manager, choose Edit or the X near the name of the partner. These changes will automatically be reflected on all linked listings.

On the Etsy Seller app, production partner profiles can only be edited while adding or editing a listing. You can access the other editing tools on a computer or mobile web browser.

If the listing editor requires you to add a production partner but you don’t have one, review Etsy’s Seller Policy to make sure that your items meet our guidelines.

Production partners only apply to items that you are designing, then having made with production assistance. Production partners don’t apply to items that you or your shop members physically make or to products that you are not personally designing.

After you disclose your production partners

In order to make sure that your items and shipping details are accurately represented to buyers, you will want to:

Update your listings’ shipping locations to accurately reflect if they are shipping from a production partner’s location
Fill out your shop’s About Section to tell the story of how you design and create your items
